A Journey Through the Universe in Art
Qiub is my first artistic creation, inspired by the vast mysteries of the universe and contemplating the profound question: Where do we all come from? It represents infinite space—unknown, incomprehensible, yet deeply familiar. Qiub feels like home, inviting endless interpretations.
This piece is the result of an intricate combination of concepts: spiral + fractal + infinite.
• Why spiral? The golden ratio spiral is a concept deeply rooted in nature, found everywhere from ocean waves to plants, animals, and even galaxies.
• Why fractal? The fractal nature of certain structures in the natural world reveals patterns that repeat at different scales, often interlacing with spirals, as seen in the geometry of Romanesco broccoli.
• Why infinite? Infinity, with no beginning or end, is expressed here through a cube within a cube within a cube—expanding or contracting size infinitely. The cube provides stability to the spirals and serves as the core from which they emerge.
The same piece, in varying colors and progressively larger iterations, connects to itself through an internal magnetic system, forming fractal spirals of exponential growth, all condensed into a cube that can expand infinitely ∞
A set of 72 magnetic pieces that make assembly simple and fun. These are just some examples of what will occur while assembling the cube...
